Speech therapy and Auditory Verbal therapy for deaf children
Supporting deaf children to listen - Hark!
& ignite their imagination - Spark!

Hark & Spark is a play-based specialist speech & language therapy service built on the  principles of child development, play and Auditory Verbal practice

PLAY

Children learn through play.
Each therapy session is built around child-directed play making it
fun and functional

LISTEN

The therapy sessions focus on teaching your child's brain to listen and understand spoken language.

SPEAK

The prorgamme will focus on developing confident communicators by closing the spoken language gap between them and their typically hearing peers.
The aim is to do so by the time they start school.

Parent Coaching

At Hark & Spark our main focus is the parent(s). As parents, you are the main and best models for language development and so by equipping you with the right strategies you can accelerate your child's language development. This was they become confident, listeners, thinkers and speakers!

Developing a Listening Brain

Auditory Verbal Therapy is for families of deaf babies and young children who want their child to listen and speak. Any deaf child that uses hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHAs or any other hearing technology, has the ability to develop their listening brain.

Deaf children can learn how to understand and use more than one language. Families are encouraged to use their home language(s) with their child. As long as there is the best-possible access to sound through hearing technology, then we can develop a listening brain.
